2019 v. Our Previous 4 Seasons
By: Michael “Scouse” Bromilow
After a less than stellar beginning to the 2019 season, it seems that our Boys in Purple have lost their way somewhat. As a die hard fan of Louisville City FC, I wanted to see where our team was at vs. the same time during the previous four years.

If we compare each season it will paint a picture for us on how our Louisville City FC is doing after four matches. In goals scored, Louisville City, this season has scored six goals which is pretty much equal to our previous seasons. In goals against, there is a clear disparity in the amount of goals our team has conceded. For the 1st time Louisville City history, we have a (-2) negative goal difference after four matches. In each of our previous seasons to this point, Louisville City has averaged (+3.5) positive goal difference over the past four seasons.
It is clear our Louisville City has much work to do to bolster our defence going forward. With our aggressive attacking style of football are we leaving ourselves vulnerable at the back? We must address our defensive frailties if we are to have any chance of challenging for the title this year. I am certain that our apparent poor start to this campaign will be addressed by our coaching staff sooner, rather than later.
This season is far from being decided in the first four matches, but the measure of a championship winning side is how we proceed forward from here. I am relieved that Louisville City are experiencing a rough patch at the moment. I would rather it be now instead of the crunch matches at the end of the season. Please be patient, stay strong and loyal to our team. They will prevail! Just remember ”If you can’t support us when we lose or draw, don’t support us when we’re winning” Come on our Boys in Purple!
